Pray: Thank God for preparing a time for you to be in His presence. Ask Him to gather your thoughts and the pieces of your heart so that you are able to be fully attentive to His word. Ask Him to open your heart to criticism and reproof so that you can be molded into the person God is calling you to be.

Read: Proverbs 9; John 6:53

Ask:  What is the purpose of this proverb? Where do you see Jesus in this passage? What two things are being compared from the beginning of the chapter to the end of the chapter? In what areas of your life can you work on receiving reproof and discerning criticism?

Apply: Ask God to highlight those areas in your life where you could improve your character and be open to help from wiser people. Be willing to make a change in your heart and let God mold you into the person He is calling you to be.
