Pray: Ask God to open your heart to conviction, teaching, and discipline. Ask the Holy Spirit to enter into this time of reading so that you can eloquently understand what the scriptures are teaching.

Read: Proverbs 4; Matthew 6:19-21

Ask: What is the purpose of this proverb? How do these passages relate to each other? What are you prioritizing and protecting? What do you need to guard your heart against?

Apply: Make a list of at least three earthly things that you are protecting and that are preventing you from storing up treasures in heaven. It could be idolizing your grades, spending too much time on social media/ TV/YouTube/ Video games, hanging out with the wrong group of people, etc. Eliminate at least one of those things from your life for 2 weeks and see how different your day-to-day life is.
